Opportunities abound in the Wimberley Valley area for volunteering, and WPC members are very active in organizations and ministries ranging from the Village Thrift Store to an adult literacy program, to mentoring and assisting teachers in our public schools, to working with Crisis Breadbasket or Habitat for Humanity. We hope to add more about each of these, and other, opportunities in the near future. |

Volunteering is a great way to give something of yourself to your church and others in our special community. The purpose of this page of the WPC web site is to list volunteer activities in the church that are available and how to join them. In the future, we plan to list activities available in the community. |

Greeters perform a very important service by welcoming people to worship, making them feel comfortable, and helping them in other ways if necessary. If a person is a visitor to WPC, the greeters help them find a Visitor Card so they can be identified and greeted by name by all who meet them. People may volunteer to greet on one Sunday, or many Sundays, depending on their available time and interest. If you would like to do this, contact Michael Petty on the Visitors and New Members Committee.

Ushers pass out the weekly worship program, help people find seats when necessary, count the number of people in worship, and take up the collection. We welcome and encourage children and youth to serve as ushers. If you would like to help with this important task, contact Teresa Ward on the Worship Committee. |

Lay liturgists assist in leading the worship service each week. They welcome people to worship, lead the congregation in the corporate prayer of confession, and read the first Bible lesson. Liturgists receive special training provided by the Worship Committee. Contact Teresa Ward on the Worship Committee if you are interested. |
|
Fellowship time is every Sunday, after the 11:00 am Worship Service. Volunteers are needed each week to bring snacks (cookies, chips and dip, cheese and crackers, etc.) to share. If you are interested, contact Geoffrey Goetz on the Fellowship Committee. |

Teaching Sunday School is a very worthwhile and rewarding endeavor. Teachers are chosen for all ages each year, but others are always needed to pinch hit if a teacher needs to be out of town. If you are interested either in teaching or being a substitute, contact Wellborn Gregg, chair of the Christian Education Committee.

WPC has a well-equipped library with a wide variety of Christian literature. If you love to read, please check it out. To volunteer in the library, contact Lynn Williams or Wellborn Gregg, chair of the Christian Education Committee.

If you have a "way with numbers" and would be willing to help count the Sunday offerings, contact Cleon Dunham, chair of the Finance Committee.
