Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning "short course". This course occurs on a renewal weekend which takes place at a retreart center several times each year. During a Cursillo weekend, participants experience a series of short talks, table discussions, worship, and lots of fellowship and singing. Cursillo is an experience through which one's spirituality may be developed, shared and lived out in every area of human life. The goal of Cursillo is the goal of the Presbyterian Church: to bring all to Christ. Cursillo helps to renew & deepen Christian commitment by providing a deeper understanding of the teachings and love of Jesus, and how we can serve Him.
Cursillo is a Presbyterian program, not a WPC program; however it is endorsed and supported by the Session. WPC members are encouraged to be involved in this program, but no one is required to participate, and participation or lack of participation has no effect on anyone's status in WPC. To date, over forty members of WPC have participated in Cursillo. If you are interested, contact Rev. Anne Beall for more information.
