For any church, and particularly for a growing church, small group ministry is a vital part of church life. The following small groups all play key roles in the life of WPC: |
Monday Morning Prayer Group |
>
A long tradition at WPC, this dedicated group meets faithfully every Monday morning, praying over the current list of joys and concerns. The list of all prayer concerns is shared with the Session each week.
Over 50 women are involved in this program at WPC. Evening Circles meet the third Monday and Tuesday, respectively, of each month. A daytime Circle meets on the third Tuesday. The meetings are centered around Bible study, fellowship, and prayer. The Circles also participate in mission projects throughout the year. Twice a year, all the Circles meet together for good food and a special program. |
Our talented choir also functions as a wonderful support group. During the weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, joys and concerns are shared and all are lifted in prayer. |
Now in its sixth year, this group meets regularly every Wednesday evening at the church. Fellowship, prayer, and Bible study are the focal points. Offerings are made to a special fund, the proceeds from which are used to help any WPC members in need. |
Thursday Morning Bible Study |
This is a new group this year, led by Pastor Anne, taking an in-depth look at the Gospel of Mark. The group prepares with study questions each week for class discussion. |
There are other small groups throughout the year. For example, a Lenten study group. |
